Testing

We offer a comprehensive pre-test and price survey, encompassing a burn test, foam and pH test, and concluding with a dye bleed test.
These meticulous assessments are diligently conducted to guarantee the precise selection of products for our esteemed clients’ furnishings.
To determine what chemicals we use on different types of fibres and fabrics, we pH test the spot with the highest level of soiling in the area and whether the reading comes back acidic, neutral or alkaline, we then use reverse chemistry to rinse the stain out.
Many cleaners just clean everything with their strongest chemicals which sometimes results in failure to remove even the easiest stains. For example, if you try to tackle an alkaline stain with an alkaline chemical, then this will actually set the stain and make the situation worse.

Carlisle, Pet stain removal

At CleanSteam – Cumbria, we do offer pet stain removal. This is considered a specialist treatment as extra measures must be taken to remove any staining, odours and kill any bacteria sitting in the carpet fibres and also to target all the way through to the underlay.
Before cleaning and removing any stains, we must first conduct a moisture test in multiple areas of the room to ensure the underlay isn’t wet and also the floorboards beneath.
Following these steps is key as if you are to add more moisture to the room before it completely dries, this is when you start to get mould and bad odours developing within the flooring.
